Professor Charlie is a Scott Phillips 1st Degree Black Belt and Professor Phillips' first "homegrown" (white - black) Black Belt student.  

Charlie began training at Danger Academy in 2007 at the age of 46, co-founded Scott Phillip's' Invincible Academy in 2016, and now teaches students of all ages at Invincible. 

A former college football player at Jacksonville State University, Professor Charlie immediately enjoyed the physicality of our Jiu Jitsu, appreciated the detail-oriented teaching approach, and recognized the art's efficacy for real life self-defense situations.

Always the competitor, Charlie entered his first Jiu Jitsu competition at 49 years old, the 2010 WGC Texas State Championships, and brought home gold 🏆 in his Masters Heavyweight division and despite being 20 yrs older and 50 lbs lighter than his finals opponent, silver 🥈 in the Adult (elite) Super Heavyweight division.

Professor Charlie brings quick wit and a wealth of incredibly valuable experience to Invincible Academy.from both on and off the mats.  Whether it was raising two incredibly successful and Godly adult daughters, managing multi-million and multi-billion dollar corporations for several decades, traveling the globe leading mission trips, or  pastoring God's people, Charlie's experience and his willingness to share it, make him an incredible asset to all Invincible Academy Students.
